  • Partnering with risk and CCB business leaders to find the best approach to operate within guidelines around approvals, underwriting, portfolio functions and proposed cash flow lending appetite
  • Managing the credit quality assessment and driving the underwriting process by gathering and analyzing data as well as making recommendations to broader credit teams
  • Reviewing and trending underwriting findings while performing the necessary due diligence to monitor compliance of loans in the portfolio
  • Observing the quality of the asset portfolio and promptly reporting changing conditions to business and independent risk partners
  • Ensuring that the business we conduct now and in the future meets the highest ethical standards and is in accordance with credit policy, guidelines and regulatory requirements
  • Championing the effective implementation of changes that may arise, remaining resilient despite shifting environments and informing teams on all credit policy updates and guidelines

Qualifications
A successful Credit Lending Specialist has these skills:
  • A deep understanding of their role as a key builder and protector of the strong CCB culture that enables our teams to deliver remarkable experiences to clients
  • An optimistic and proactive approach to finding new opportunities for collaboration and partnership, looking beyond immediate business silos and geographic borders
  • The ability to present ideas effectively both verbally and in writing to provide a full picture of the client's credit profile
  • Strong analytical abilities buttressed by a foundational knowledge of credit products, underwriting processes, valuation concepts and complex cash flow modeling
  • Ability to embrace new technology and understand the role digital plays in the experience we deliver for our clients
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics or accounting; Master's degree in finance or accounting (preferred)
  • 5-7 years of experience working in a financial institution in a credit role (credit trained), with experience in underwriting credit to technology, media and telecommunications companies preferred
  • Broad based experience in structuring complex syndicated transactions
  • Extensive negotiating experience
