Compliance Officer

Our client is a top 100 law firm seeking a second in command to the firm's Head of Risk and Compliance.

This role is an excellent opportunity for a qualified lawyer who is looking to move into a compliance role whilst still working within a legally focused environment.

Suitable candidates must have the gravitas to deal with senior partners and the confidence to raise compliance issues where necessary. Candidates also must have the commercial awareness to balance their advice sensibly with the firms interests.

Candidates are not expected to come from a compliance background and the focus here is on the legal grounding. A thorough understanding of the SRA code of conduct is necessary to apply. There will be training on other aspects of the role and potential to particularly develop within your areas of interest

Responsibilities will include:

• Acting as the first point of contact for all internal queries in relation to risk and compliance.
• Assisting with the development and implementation of the firm's risk management framework.
• Drafting risk and compliance procedures to be used across the firm.
• Preparing reports to senior management and advising senior stakeholders.
• Communicating risk and compliance updates within the firm and training fee earners at all levels to ensure best practise.
