In House Counsel

This successful and fast growing, hi tech manufacturing business is a leader in its field, and has a growing in house legal function.

They are looking to recruit another in house solicitor to join the team and support the aims of the business. It is a dynamic and fast paced organisation and the in house lawyers work on a variety of interesting and complex legal and commercial matters. You will have daily exposure to the senior management team.

The remit is broad, though at it's core is a range of high value commercial agreements, often with an international flavour. You'll negotiate, draft and advise on heavyweight sale and purchase agreements. There will also be marketing matters, distribution agreements, competition law, anti-bribery issues, data protection, training of business partners and NDA's. In short, an interesting in house legal role with variety and complexity.

This role will be ideally suited to a lawyer with experience in a contracts related discipline (commercial, corporate, projects etc) and you'll probably need at least 2-4 years pqe to have gained the skills needed. This could suit a lawyer who is looking to make a first move in house, or one who is looking to move to a dynamic and growing business, where legal is at the heart of the decision making process. You'll need to be a self-motivated, responsible and enthusiastic individual, able to prioritise a busy workload. You will also be able to frame advice in a commercial context and suggest pragmatic solutions.

The team is based in very pleasant out of town offices, an easy commute from Newcastle and Durham, and they offer an excellent remuneration package.
