A global retail brand based in the West Midlands. This Data Protection Manager role requires a candidate with experience in Data Protection. This is a broad role with management responsibility of Data Protection Assistants.
Description
This Data Protection Manager role is based in the West Midlands (Warwickshire) and involves:
- Supports the development, operation, updating and monitoring of the Data Protection Management System
- Provides appropriate advice and interpretation on data privacy legislation.
- Provides report generation support for the National Compliance Officer.
- Promotes and encourages a culture of data privacy across the Company.
- Conducts comprehensive privacy and data protection impact assessments.
- Drafts and updates internal policies and procedures.
- Coordinates support of data subject requests (access, deletion, portability etc.)
- Coordinates support of data breaches and incidents, including root cause analysis.
- Responds to queries from the business on data protection.
- Supports the development of appropriate data protection training material.
- Leads, directs and supervises the work of those staff reporting to them.
- Trains other staff where appropriate.
- Ensures deadlines are complied with in area of responsibility.
- Ensures compliance with policies in the area of responsibility.
- Checks and authorises invoices in the area of responsibility, following Company procedures.
- Maintains an efficient and well organised filing system for area of responsibility.
- Ensures the efficient flow of information, both incoming and outgoing, with external and internal parties within area of responsibility.
- Ensures that all documentation in the area of responsibility is archived properly and ensures its safe disposal at the end of the archive period.
- Ensures that the workstation and surrounding area is well organised.
- Works in accordance with the UK and Ireland Code of Conduct.
Profile
This Data Protection Manager role is based in the West Midlands (Warwickshire) and requires:
-Experience in a role focused on data protection
-Full knowledge of GDPR and DPA and the ability to apply it practically
-Management experience a benefit but not essential
-Experience of drafting, implementing and monitoring privacy policies and procedures
-Experience of producing and giving privacy specific training
-Audit/ review experience
-Experienced when receiving, making decisions on and responding to data subject requests
-Experience of managing data breaches, including follow up
