Supporting the directors and partners the role encompasses the provision of financial due diligence to major privately owned and private equity backed businesses. This covers the whole range of corporate finance transactions from MBO's to mergers, acquisitions and disposals. A qualified accountant is required, most likely ACA, CA or ACCA (ICAEW or ICAS) with extensive client facing due diligence experience. A sound commercial understanding beyond the financials is highly desirable whereas a demonstrable track record of board level interaction and influence is essential. Winning new clients and general income generation is a substantial part of the role and certainly vital for those wishing to progress beyond the role of associate director
.
The role would certainly suit someone from a Big 4 or Top 10 firm but those outside of the Top 10 with relevant experience would also be considered. The business would also consider individuals who may have recently departed the profession for industry but feel in the current economic environment, with clear director and partnership opportunities available, their careers would be better served returning to the profession.
