Finance Director & Company Secretary

My client is a market leading, manufacturing SME servicing a specialist domestic market. The company has a loyal, highly skilled workforce and a reputation for producing quality bespoke products for demanding applications.  The company has a strategy for continued, profitable organic growth.

As a board appointment, this role has been created to strengthen the leadership team and to work alongside the Managing Director to enable the company to take advantage of the exciting commercial opportunities available.  

Alongside supervising the Financial Controller in the day to day management of the finance function and the normal statutory requirements, key elements of the position will include proactively contributing to commercial decision making, ensuring that contracts are legally robust, forward planning, assisting in the development of strategy and acting as the primary contact with external advisors and stakeholders.

You should be a professionally qualified accountant, ideally with a track record in a similar role and a good understanding of commercial legal matters. Prior experience of contract negotiation and pricing would be advantageous. In addition, you should possess a background in a manufacturing or industrial environment, a practical hands-on approach and well developed influencing skills.
