The business is highly profitable and remains focused on R&D and developing and manufacturing products that will further consolidate its position in the market and has invested in extending it facilities to ensure it remains at the forefront of its sector. It is an ideal role for somebody with a solid base of FC skills, looking to progress in a role that will lead to a statutory directorship in the future.

This is a whole of business FD role and a senior leadership position within the business, that also encompasses responsibility for IT, HR and legal. You will work closely with the MD and will play a key role in shaping and delivering strategy. A key focus of the role is to support manufacturing operations through effective capacity planning, inventory management and accurate BOMs / costings and to manage the cash position and FX exposures. Additionally, you will have the usual FD responsibilities for providing day to day direction to the finance team; liaising with banks, auditors and lawyers; preparing budgets (departmental and consolidated); the ongoing development of processes and systems; and production of statutory accounts and oversight of the annual audit.

To be considered for this role you will be a qualified accountant who thrives in fast paced environments and can evidence the following:
  • Experience in a broad #1 finance role with a responsibility for areas outside of finance;
  • Background in a multi-site manufacturing environment with a high number of SKUs and BOMs;
  • The ability to build strong relationships with colleagues at all levels and across a number of business functions;
  • A proven capability to operationalise business decisions and translate business initiatives into tangible plans, targets and goals;
  • A flexible outlook with a hands on approach and a 'can do' attitude.
