Our client, a high-tech innovative engineering company, is seeking a commercial and strategically minded CFO / COO with a broad scope of responsibilities to support the Board and drive growth. Responsibilities include:

  • Smooth running of Finance, Legal, IT, Quality Systems, General Facilities, and oversight of Low Volume Manufacturing
  • Leadership and development of all teams within your remit
  • Co-ordination and reporting of financial and commercial activities to the Board
  • Reviewing existing IT systems and processes, making recommendations and implementing changes for operational improvement
  • Create robust business and control processes to reflect best practice
  • Maintenance, review and negotiation of contracts
  • Drive the business forward to the next phase of its growth journey

Experience required:

  • Degree and ACCA, ACA, or CIMA qualified
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a senior finance role as Finance Director / Chief Financial Officer for a company or division, combined with recent broader commercial experience
  • Demonstrate outstanding commercial and strategic awareness and acumen
  • High levels of organisation, planning, numeracy, communication and the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Proven leadership capability, inspiring teams and building strong internal and external business relationships
  • Experience in an engineering / manufacturing environment

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with a proven track record in an FD role, as well as demonstrating success in a broader capacity, perhaps as a Chief Operating Officer / Operations Director / General Manager / Managing Director. You will be a leader and mentor, able to inspire teams and build strong relationships across the business. Experience in an engineering and/or manufacturing setting is also important.
