Job Description of the Finance Director
The Finance Director will provide leadership to the finance function, managing a team of 19 (3 direct reports) and embedding a business partner model to the finance function. It will also support the MD and executive management in setting the strategic direction of the business, deputising for the MD in their absence.
As Finance Director, you will ensure that accounts are kept in compliance with IFRS; ensure compliance with regulatory statutory bodies; review all month end activities; safeguard the assets of the company; maintain an excellent credit control system; ensure that financial systems are robust and compliant, and manage the organisational risk and treasury function (building strong and positive working relationships with corporate financial partners, particularly creditors and bankers).
The successful candidate will contribute to the development of strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision making as appropriate, as well as provide financial analysis and guidance on all plans targets and business drivers.
Finally, the finance director will be responsible for empowering, training the finance team, ensuring effective succession planning, while monitoring and reviewing performance of the team on a regular basis.
The Successful Applicant for the Finance Director Role
It is essential that the successful candidate have experience of working for a global company in a similar Director level position that has been based in Ghana. Experience of managing a finance team of 15 plus people would be essential, as would a candidate who is passionate about treating finance as a business partner.
We are looking for Finance leaders, who have strong controls experience, and who are currently operating in Ghana or would be happy to relocate to Ghana as an Ex Pat.
What's on Offer for the Finance Director
The successful candidate will likely attract a salary of between £90,000 to £120,000, which will be tax free. Additional benefits will be accommodation & utilities, private schooling, private health care, travel allowance, company vehicle and a bonus of up to 20%.
