Head of Finance

Ignata Finance are very pleased to be representing a prestigious Sussex-based employer in their search for a new Head of Finance.

This is a critical role for the business as the successful candidate will lead the Financial Operations team and be responsible for delivering a best in class transactional finance support function. The team is tasked with delivering credit control, sales invoicing, cash operations and bank reconciliations for a significant number of business units within the organisation. Ongoing process improvement, insightful MI and a hands-on approach to leading the team will be key to the success of this role. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading the Finance Operations team, c40 heads
• Develop and embed regular reporting for activities including invoicing, expenses, payables and collections 
• Drive and maintain a standardised month end close process 
• To review and own resolution of business issues around finance operations. 
• Work collaboratively with the systems support and change teams to improve processes, controls, documentation and management information 
• Developing talent and driving the team to develop their careers across the finance team 

Who we are looking for:

• A qualified accountant ACA, ACCA or CIMA
• Prior experience of managing mid-large finance operations teams within a complex, ideally global, business
• Knowledge and experience of operational processes and implementation of financial controls in finance operations 
• A delivery focused individual able to work to deadlines and embed a high performance culture across the teams
• Proven track record of developing staff, leading from the front and instilling a continuous process improvement mentality across a management group
