A Financial Controller is wanted by a well-established independent boutique investment bank based in the City. They enable rapidly growing companies to gain access to capital within corporate finance, broking, trading and advisory / research services. They boast an immensely well-connected team and act on dozens of IPOs & fund-raisings each year as well as acting as NomAd’s and brokers on others. They are growing and this is an excellent time to join this unique business.
Reporting to the CEO (who is also a qualified accountant), the Financial Controller will manage the day-to-day finance function and assist the Board - duties include:
· Production of Board reports including monthly management accounts, commentary, variance analysis and KPI reports.
· Own the General Ledger and have oversight of all accounting entries made.
· Produce all regulatory reporting (e.g. FCA, capital adequacy, KYC etc…)
· Prepare VAT / statutory returns, liaise with auditors & other external bodies.
· Develop the Sage Line 50 / Sun packages & improve the outputs they make.
· A range of ad hoc projects to support a dynamic, growing business.
The ideal candidate for the post of Financial Controller will be a qualified accountant who has worked for either a boutique investment bank, stockbroker or other similar FCA regulated business and who wishes to take a step up in level of work and responsibility The role requires someone who enjoys being very hands-on and involved in the detail; those who have a real attention to detail, tenacity and a desire to broaden their horizons will do well here. Exposure to Sun / Sage Line 50 would be useful but isn’t essential.
