Divisional Financial Controller needed for Blue Chip business in Berkshire!

£70,000 - £80,000 + Car allowance + Bonus + Benefits

An opportunity has become available for a Divisional Financial Controller to join a UK business in the Berkshire area with exposure to both key operating divisions.

The role will play a pivotal part in maintaining the quality and integrity of the financial reporting processes through leadership of the Management Accounting team, and high quality, timely production of reported results. The role is accountable for delivering an effective financial control environment, with specific focus on balance sheets, cash reporting & collection and overhead expenditure. You will help drive innovation in finance processes, support automation of core processes and development of finance systems to provide accurate and timely financial insight to the leadership team.

To successfully deliver in this high-profile position, you will need to have:

  • University graduate.
  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified - audit background preferred.
  • Financial control and financial reporting experience in a large Blue Chip business.
  • Team Management experience is essential.
  • Experience of working with and supporting contracts and providing financial support to commercial and operational teams.
  • Construction or Facilities Management industry experience would be desirable but is not essential.

A little more information about the role:

  • Ensuring the Management Accounts team accurately compile the monthly results in line with the Group reporting timetable.
  • Support the sectors in reconciling and analysing the reported results.
  • Review overhead and bid costs in conjunction with budget holders.
  • Support the integrity of the financial results through rigorous review of the Company balance sheets and ensuring the effectiveness of the Contracts internal controls.
  • Engage with joint venture stakeholders to ensure that the requirements of the Group are understood by the partners and are adhered to.
  • Maintain monthly actual cash reporting, working with the Senior FP&A Analyst to ensure variances to forecasts are understood and mitigating actions are implemented.
  • Work closely with the sectors to understand their business area, and as a result be able to provide value added support tot them and their teams.
  • Become the first point of contact for any financial control and technical accounting matters that arise.
  • Coaching and mentoring the Management Accounting team, developing the skills they need to fulfil their career aspirations and perform to a high standard.
  • Deputise for the Head of Finance when required.
