Fund Controller

I am looking for a Fund Controller to join a Pan European Real Estate investor manager with over £7bn in AUM.  Their finance team is split into small business units and there is an opportunity to join their Debt Funds team, who advise 4 debt funds with commitments of between £200m to £800m of equity.  Working in a team of 5 people responsible for accounting, reporting, compliance and the loan servicing for all debt funds and separate accounts.

Accounting & Operations

• Management of the accounting, consolidation and reporting processes for the fund and a feeder fund as well - including quarterly/annual financial statements, investor reporting and annual financial accounts preparation.
• Oversee the audit and tax compliance processes
• Point of contact for internal fund managers, portfolio & asset managers and administrators.
• Responsible for cash management of the fund
• Liaise with the wider finance functions and ensure all reporting requirements are provided on time
• Assist in due diligence and structuring of new debt investments.

Loan Agency & Servicing

• Manage the loan agency & servicing aspects of the loans within the fund
• Set up of new deals in the system and ongoing preparation of interest payment statements
• Compliance testing, waterfalls management, valuations instructions and dealing with borrower requests
• Must have deep understanding of the loan investment portfolio

Qualifications:

• Qualified accountant with 5 - 8 post qualification experience (ACA, ACCA preferred)
• Fund or CRE debt experience (experience in both would be advantageous)
• Strong technical accounting experience
• Knowledge of loan agreements metrics and operational clauses
• Advanced Excel user with experience of Yardi or similar General Ledger systems
• MUST be commercially minded with good problem solving and analytical skills

There is a competitive base salary offered plus a bonus of up to 30%, private medical care and additional benefits.
