The Head of Finance will report directly into the Finance Director, who will mentor this successful candidate into being their successor. You will play a vital part in driving value and leading the financial performance of the business, through a team of 6 accountants.

Travelling across the country, you will be directly impacting bottom line by providing commercial support to a variety of stakeholders.

Main accountabilities include:

• Proactively manage a team of 6 Finance Managers and through them develop the financial management skill base and drive the highest standards of management and financial reporting across the business units.

• Support senior stakeholders within the business in achieving commercial KPI's and profit targets including monitoring and driving productively.

• Contribute to the development and achievement of the business plan.

• Lead financial projects.

• Review and challenge budgets, constantly striving for continuous improvements and challenging commercial decision making where appropriate.

This is a great opportunity for a progressive candidate with an entrepreneurial spirit who is able to operate comfortably with risk, whilst managing commercial exposures. The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong motivational and leadership skills and experience in managing and developing a team of technical experts in a fast-paced environment. Is it essential for the candidate to have the experience and gravitas to be able to operate with colleagues at the director level and you must have a very high level of business acumen.
