CEO - Chief Executive Officer Somerset is assisting Orthopedic Associates of Kankakee ("OAK") in their search for a Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The physicians and staff at OAK are committed to serving patients in the Midwest and their mission is to provide high quality, orthopedic healthcare for all people with musculoskeletal disorders. OAK offers a unique approach to medicine with highly specialized treatment options and the finest medical and surgical care.
OAK has nine board certified orthopaedic surgeons who are fellowship trained in sports medicine, hand and upper extremity, foot and ankle, and total joint reconstruction.
In addition, OAK has two primary care- sports medicine physicians, two physical medicine and rehabilitation physician and a podiatry physician.

OAK has three locations in Bradley, Frankfort, and Watseka, Illinois which include MRI,
X-ray, physical therapy, occupational health, ambulatory surgery center (OAK Surgical Institute) and a robust athletic training and sports performance program.
OAK also provides and coordinates all of the Chicago Bears medical care during training camp while the Bears are in Bourbonnais as well as provide continued medical support for the team for the duration of the season. CEO direct responsibilities include: Assisting the physician owners with governance and strategic vision of the practice enterprise, including development of a master strategic plan for the organization. Overseeing and managing physician growth including heavy emphasis on the development and execution of strategic initiatives, managing and directing growth opportunities with existing services, new markets, service line, facilities and locations.
Evaluating and managing the administrative team, working on a daily basis with operations team, directing payer and employer group contracting, ensuring sound financial performance and guiding the practice through the ever-changing health care environment. Leading and directing the staff, including the organization's administrative team in management of all the business, human resources, financial, strategic, compliance, and regulatory aspects of the practice.
Developing and managing relationships
with external partners and stakeholders; hospitals, referring practices, insurance companies, other specialty and orthopedic groups A track record of successfully managing a large and complex health care entity is essential, as is possession of the leadership skills to guide and motivate members of the staff.
An advanced degree in health care administration, business or financial operations as well as ten years of executive-level experience is required. Prior medical group practice experience and orthopedic group practice management experience would be ideal.
