Top In-House Role - Corporate/Commercial Legal Counsel - Global Financial Institution

My client is a Global Financial institution looking to hire a Corporate/Commercial Legal counsel on a permanent basis. 

Key responsibilities will include - 

•       Providing counsel and legal support in relation to all aspects of English banking and financial services law (including credit and lending) and material regulatory issues.

•       Being considered a trusted legal adviser to the  UK business by ensuring that commercially sensitive, pragmatic and practical legal support and advice is provided in a cost-effective and efficient manner to the relevant UK business area..

•       Providing prompt, practical, commercial and sometimes complicated and / or specialized legal advice and support to the relevant UK business area.

•       Being proactive in the provision of legal support to and management of legal risks in the UK and related Functions.

A strong candidate should have 

•       An English law qualified solicitor with at least 2 years PQE.

•       Experience of / exposure to banking transactional work.

•       Familiarity with the various vehicles through which business can be undertaken e.g. companies, incorporated partnerships, sole traders etc.

•       Familiarity with lending, security and priority arrangement documentation

•       Excellent spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting your style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered.

•       Ability to build effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same.

•       Ability to use business knowledge and understanding of client needs to successfully manage and grow client relationships.
