Warm Zones

Finance Director

Newcastle upon Tyne

£65,000 to £75,000 offering flexible and potential part time working

With annual income of c £13m, and employing 40 people, Warm Zones is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company that facilitates the delivery of practical measures to alleviate fuel poverty and improve domestic energy efficiency. The company was formed in 2001.

The organisation achieves this by working in partnership in various locations across the country, delivering an integrated package of energy efficiency measures, benefits and energy advice services.

The company is a subsidiary of the fuel poverty charity National Energy Action (NEA), operating autonomously with a separately constituted Board, assisting NEA in delivering its charitable objectives.

The company is currently structured into 4 operational hubs across the country, serviced by a headquarters office based in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Warm Zones is now seeking to recruit a Finance Director, based in Newcastle upon Tyne with some travel to London and the operational hubs.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will sit on the Board, contributing to the development and execution of strategy, thereby playing a key role in the organisation.

You will carry full responsibility for a small finance function, plus IT and HR. Holding relationships with key advisers, such as auditors, solicitors and bankers, you will also work with NEA on maintaining a mutually beneficial relationship.

This is a broad ranging role, with scope for development, providing the opportunity to have real impact on the organisation and its direction of travel.

Potential candidates should be qualified accountants, with the capability of implementing a degree of corporate rigour, whilst having empathy with a smaller organisation. You will be comfortable acting at Board level.

The role could accommodate flexible working, and possibly an equivalent four day working week for the right candidate.

Salary will be within the £65,000 to £75,000 range for an equivalent five day week.
