in the role of Vice President of Talent Development.
At UMCU our VP of Talent Development will oversee all Talent and Human Resources related activities, including team member and management performance and development, recruiting, onboarding and department training, team events, compensation and benefit administration.
What else you'll be doing in this role:
Serves as team player of the Senior Management team, participating and adding to strategic decisions and opportunities of the Credit Union. Lead, develop, implement, and communicate the strategic goals of the Talent Development
Department, supporting and correlating them with the overall purpose, philosophies, and strategic goals of the Credit Union. Responsible for mentoring and coaching the overall development of Talent Development Department team members by participating in selection and hiring, training planning, coaching, promotions, corrective action and termination, and overall performance evaluation. Develops and executes trainings with the assistance of the training team members. Develops, coordinates and monitors team relations and communications activities including employee recognition programs, exit interviews and resolution of employee related issues, hiring and terminations. Develops and administers the Credit Union salary program including salary adjustments, position descriptions and point evaluations, salary grades and ranges to ensure fair and competitive wages are being paid to staff. Monitors and administers the Credit Union's employee benefit programs including health, dental, life, pension, and mandated benefits such as workers compensation and unemployment insurance. Monitors the entire Human Resources function for compliance with various Federal and State laws and regulations including applicable Civil Rights Acts, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Employment Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), and Consolidated Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA). Develops and administers compliance with federal and state regulations.
Activities may include EEO-1 reporting, applicant flow, and setting and monitoring recruitment and employment goals. Ability to interpret and advise on the application of EEO/AA laws. Provides fun opportunities for the various teams of the Credit Union that build team engagement and morale. Provide support to managers and team members when needed with the resolution of team member concerns; making complex service decisions, evaluating and taking action in situations, and making decisions in the best interests of the Credit Union and the membership Contribute to the Credit Union's community involvement efforts by representing the Credit Union at events and participating on committees and boards Why consider UMCU?
