COO - Chief Operating Officer 60 physicians Private orthopaedic practice Somerset is assisting Orthopedic ONE in their search for a Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Orthopedic ONE is the largest physician-owned orthopedic surgery practice in Ohio. Representing 60 of the region's top general and fellowship-trained orthopedic experts, more than 100 physical and occupational therapists, and a team of 600 caring associates, they are dedicated to helping patients get better and get back to doing what they love. Covering every area of orthopedic expertise, sub-specialties include: foot & ankle, hand & wrist, neck and spine, hip, knee, shoulder & upper extremity, total joint replacement, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and sports medicine. The physicians and staff at Orthopedic ONE are committed to providing the highest quality musculoskeletal care available in Columbus and the surrounding regions of central Ohio. As a physician owned practice, they retain the ability to do what's best for the patient - providing the highest quality of care and service, while keeping costs low. Orthopedic ONE has ten convenient physician clinics spanning the central Ohio footprint, and includes a robust and comprehensive therapy services ancillary, on-site fluoroscopy, EMG services, and convenient MRI suites.
Orthopedic ONE physicians maintain hospital affiliations with two of the largest systems in Columbus, as well as independent ventures in area ambulatory surgery centers. The successful candidate will: Establish credibility throughout the organization and with the Board as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges. ?
Provide leadership and management to ensure that the mission, core values, and strategic plans of the company are put into practice.
With processes, demonstrate a data-driven and analytical decision-making style; with people, collaborate and communicate and lead by example.

Partner with the CEO in creating annual budgets and operational goals.
Drive the organization to achieve profitability, business goals and objectives. Manage FTE levels and cost metrics using Ortho Forum, AAOE, MGMA or other professional benchmarking metrics. Ensure clinic compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery.

Manage the physical plant.

Represent the clinic in relationships with other health organizations, government agencies and third party payers as engaged by the CEO or Board. Collaborate with the operational leadership team to develop and implement plans for systems, processes, and personnel to accommodate the growth objectives of the practice.

Delegate authority and responsibility to management team members while building a culture of collaboration and accountability.
Motivate, lead, and mentor operational leadership team including physician clinic, physical therapy services, diagnostic imaging, information technology, and facilities. Manage the customer experience by using survey results to drive a pattern of continued improvement. Serve as a project management leader on various strategic matters, including the development of new locations, expansions, mergers, and acquisitions. Maintain professional affiliations and pursue professional development to keep current in the latest health care trends, developments and technologies. A track record of successfully managing a large and complex health care entity is essential, as is possession of the leadership skills to guide and motivate members of the staff.

An advanced degree in health care administration, business or financial operations as well as ten years of executive-level experience is required.

Prior medical group practice experience and orthopedic group practice management experience would be ideal.
Strong leaders with high-level communication, analytical and leadership skills are encouraged to apply.

Excellent salary and benefits, as well as a relocation package will be offered. The COO reports to the CEO, and attends Board meetings as a senior leader in the company.
