NorDx is a not-for-profit clinical laboratory that provides comprehensive, dependable, quality laboratory services to hospitals, physicians, long-term care providers, other laboratories, and healthcare organizations throughout northern New England.
NorDx is a member of MaineHealth, the state's largest integrated healthcare delivery system and a recognized leader in New England. The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will lead all operational aspects of the organization to ensure quality, efficiency and effectiveness of 4 million tests annually.
In collaboration with the President, the COO will establish goals and objectives for the organization.
He/She will devise strategies, formulate plans, organize resources and monitor performance to ensure that the operational and strategic objectives of NorDx and MaineHealth are successfully met.
The COO will communicate goals and objectives throughout the organization and work with Directors to ensure day-to-day operations align with organizational objectives.
Moreover, the COO will oversee the analysis of data, identify problems at the organization level, prioritize opportunities for improvement and facilitate appropriate changes as needed. The selected candidate will possess a minimum of five years of senior-level laboratory management and operations experience within a highly complex and large multi-facility environment.
The chosen candidate will have demonstrated experience in process improvement preferably utilizing LEAN/Six Sigma principles and the ability to build and maintain successful relationships.
The preferred candidate will be an engaged and visible leader who possess the ability to gain trust, credibility, loyalty and respect within a customer-service focused organization.
An advanced degree in business administration, healthcare management or a related field is required; a clinical laboratory background is desired. The Portland/Scarborough area of Cumberland County is located on the Southeastern coast of Maine.
The area is known for its unique qualities and is considered a great place to live, work, vacation and conduct business.
Portland is one of the nation's top small port cities.
Excellent private and public education is available, and housing is varied and affordable.
