Based close to Kings Cross in central London we are exclusively  retained to assist with the appointment of a CFO for this £50m business.

Main Tasks

Responsibility for the management, motivation and output of all aspects of the Finance Department, and for supporting the board of directors with analytical and strategic guidance from a finance perspective:

 

 

 

Management Accounting

 

 

 

  • Prepare quarterly management accounts for each of the group companies, along with appropriate commentary to highlight performance and strategic issues..
  • Ensure the accuracy of the accounts via appropriately designed and managed controls.
  • Using agreed formulae, calculate bonus and dividend recommendations.
  • Calculate and monitor key performance indicators and and report to Group executives so as to drive improvement through performance monitoring.
  • Constantly review and improve on internal systems, controls and reporting.

 

 

Forecasts

 

 

 

  • Prepare a financial forecast at the start of each year in consultation with key executives referencing and validating their own projections.
  • Update the forecast as the year progresses and circulate with the monthly and  quarterly reports.
  • The half year forecast is used in the annual company valuation required for the Group's EMI share scheme.
  • Maintain long term forecasts to support the rolling long-term strategic projections.  These are revised and updated as necessary.

Business strategy

 

 

 

  • Provide financial  analysis and perspective in relation to all strategic plans across the Group.
  • Evaluate potential acquisitions, working closely with and advising the CEO.
  • Partner with executive management to evaluate future opportunities and direction.
  • Prepare forecasts and financial projections for strategic options under consideration.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Statutory reporting

  • Provide auditors with the draft management accounts together with additional figures and adjustments necessary to complete Statutory Accounts.
  • Provide working papers and schedules to support the audit.
  • Generally liaise with the auditors and deal with queries.
  • Prepare dormant company accounts for the dormant subsidiaries.
  • All statutory returns for HMRC including VAT and PAYE.
  • Company house filing requirements for the Group

 

 

Company secretarial

 

 

 

  • Administration of all aspects of the Group's EMI share scheme
  • Administration of board meetings
  • Organisation of the AGM

 

 

 

 

Other duties

 

 

 

  • Treasury function
  • Setting up new subsidiaries as required
  • Systems review and upgrade using NAV
  • Arranging company insurance
  • Reviewing supplier contracts
  • Assisting with supply of documentation for tender requests
  • Government statistical returns.
  • Oversight of the Fixed Asset Register

 

 

Relationships

 

 

 

  • Business partner and advisor to the CEO
  • Close working relationship with Chairman, board and non-execs
  • Dealing with Auditors, Bankers, HMRC
