Legal Counsel

Legal Counsel required to join an international service provider in the West Midlands.


Your new company
Hays are currently working in partnership with a global service provider seeking a talented Legal Counsel to join their in-house legal function. Following the successful expansion of their services in the UK and internationally, our client is currently keen to grow their business and legal divisions. Your new role
Working for this well-known and established business you will undertake both contentious and non-contentious cases to ensure the protection of the organisation's reputation and interests. You will provide legal advice and assistance to the Board of Directors and other Group Functions, including Finance, Property, HR and Procurement.

You will also assist your colleagues in all commercial contracts matters including drafting, negotiation and review of a variety of contracts and agreements on behalf of the business. Moreover, you will be required to manage and conduct dispute resolution and commercial litigation.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will be a UK qualified Solicitor/Lawyer with minimum 5 years PQE and previous experience of working in-house with a large, successful business. Ideally you will have a proven track record of providing complex legal advice within commercial litigation and contracts. You will also be a confident negotiator and have the ability to provide legal assistance in an efficient and pragmatic way. You will also have excellent communication and decision making skills as you will be required to manage various professional relationships.

What you'll get in return
To be successful in this role you will be a UK qualified Lawyer/Solicitor with 2-5 years PQE. The ideal candidate will be an ambitious individual who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with good technical knowledge and commercial understanding. You will also have previous experience of working within commercial litigation, contracts or dispute resolution. Previous in-house experience is beneficial not essential. This is a great opportunity for candidates with either non-contentious or contentious background as you can develop skills in both fields.
