ABPM as experts in financial recruitment are exclusively supporting a key client in this strategically important appointment to the Managing Director and Group Board your responsibilities will include:
- Production of internal and group financial reporting on a timely and accurate basis.
- To implement continuous financial audit and control systems to monitor the performance of the organisation, its flow of funds, the adherence to the budget, the expenditures, the income, the cost of sales and other budgetary items.
- To alert the SMT and Group Board and to warn it regarding any irregularity, lack of compliance, lack of adherence, omissions and problems whether actual or potential concerning the financial systems, the financial operations, the financing plans, the accounting, the audits, the budgets and any other matter of a financial nature or which could or does have a financial implication.
- Utilise the group shared services team and ensuring the highest standards of financial control.
- Manage and control working capital through review of stock controls and systems.
- Instigate a suite of KPIs appropriate to the departments across the business.
- Preparation of financial forecasts, budgeting and cashflow projections.
- Providing objective direction and support to the business on the financial and commercial implications of all key decisions.
- Participating in longer term business planning.
- Contributing to the strategic development of the business
- Accurate maintenance of balance sheet-liaising with all levels of personnel in providing management accounts information & ensuring that the group maintains a high level of adherence to accounting policies & best practices.
- Introduction of new practices into the business if deemed appropriate
The Individual
- Intellectually robust and commercially focused with sound judgement and strong inter-personal skills.
- Qualified accountant with a number of years PQE ideally gained in manufacturing and service orientated businesses.
- Previous experience of developing accounting processes and implementing business systems.
- Capable of dealing effectively with all levels of personnel; therefore good interpersonal skills & evidence of strong leadership and team working skills.
- Project management skills: able to effect & manage change.
- Strong analytical skills, able to understand the numbers and the issues they relate to.
