Your new role

An exciting new role has arisen for a Group Commercial Contracts Manager (LEGAL) to manage and coordinate a global commercial contracts function supporting all subsidiaries as required, in conjunction with local commercial teams, whilst monitoring risks and liability. Provide a commercial function supporting the development of companies to:

  • Promote the local identification, management and reporting of commercial and contract risk;
  • Support on commercial issues, strategic projects and contracts; and
  • Nurture a the business approach to risk and strategic objectives whilst also meeting the local commercial needs of each business as required.
  • Supporting its subsidiaries commercially, including:
  • Support contract reviews and negotiations;
  • Project Support;
  • General commercial issues; and
  • Sub-contractor Management;
  • Align and coordinate with Indian, UAE and Thai businesses' commercial management function to ensure a standard model is adopted whilst meeting the local commercial needs of the territory.
  • Support the Anti Bribery compliance strategy and with all Group companies to implement such strategy, including:
  • Monitoring and roll out (where relevant) of Anti-Bribery training across the Group; and
  • Review and management of the Group Policy;
  • Support other compliance programmes as required; and
  • Audit Committee Reporting.
  • Managing the Control Framework for Trade Compliance:
  • The ongoing management and support of the Control Framework for Trade Compliance.
  • Ongoing support to the Group Insurance programme including:
  • Working with the subsidiaries to understand and support their requirements;
  • Communicate insurance related issues with the Lucy Electric subsidiaries.
  • Working with key Group Functions such as Finance, Internal Audit, and Legal:
  • To Support the core functions set out above;
  • Provide assistance to the requirements of such functions e. reporting, links into the business etc; and
  • Support Group strategic initiatives such as IP protection and commercialisation.
  • To review commercial agreements such as licences, collaboration agreements and MOUs, and distribution agreements


What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree educated in an industry qualification or equivalent
  • Able to undertake travelling overseas at least one week a quarter
  • Full driving licence

  • Extensive commercial management experience in a technical/similar industry.
  • Experience of providing commercial support and guidance to overseas countries.
  • Extensive international contract law knowledge and experience.
  • Experience of managing and implementing processes, projects and change initiatives.
  • Experience of negotiating large scale contracts within a complex and regulated environment
  • Experience of strategic procurement and delivery at senior level
  • Experience of dealing with complex demand challenges in a complex operational environment
  • Experience working and effectively influencing senior stakeholders with or without authority
  • Experience of managing and collaborating in a diverse workforce including non-direct reports
  • Experience of delivering major/complex procurement's
  • Writing submissions and briefings
  • Experience of and the ability to work within matrix management.
