Responsibilities:

  • Track the sales pipeline and support the business in sales pipeline meetings so that there is a good visibility of future projects and workload. Help the managers to determine the correct staffing levels
  • Work with the Operations Director to develop improved tools to measure the operating profit on a job and client basis.
  • Prepare the Monthly Board presentation and provide the Board with insight into the drivers of financial performance against budget and prior year.
  • Prepare forecasts and budgets
  • Help the Managing Director determine rate cards and pricing for products
  • Support the Managing Director in managing costs and margins by reviewing and approving project budgets and requests for resources, ensuring that the cost base is tightly managed.
  • Oversee and assist where necessary in the preparation of the month end accounts. Ensure all journal entries during the monthly close are in compliance with Group Accounting Policies and generally accepted accounting principles and that an audit trail is maintained. Ensure revenue recognition is in line with IFRS and Group policies.
  • Review all balance sheet reconciliations monthly making sure that there that they are kept up-to-date, that supporting evidence is filed and that reconciling items are cleared on a monthly basis.
  • Implement and maintain strong controls over physical assets (including cameras, and mobile phones), purchase card expenditure and petty cash.
  • Manage and develop the members of the Finance team (Management Accountant and Accounts Assistant), helping them to grow and improve, maintaining a strong team spirit and developing a culture of teamwork and excellence.
  • Review and improve business processes to increase efficiency and standardisation, using best practices from around the group and past experience.
  • Support the CFO and Managing Director, taking the role of Project Manager on specific projects where required.

The successful candidate will be fully qualified (ACCA, ACA, CA or CIMA) with experience as working as financial controller or finance manager. You will need to have solid technical accounting skills, knowledge of IFRS, revenue recognition etc.
