Our client is a dynamic organisation in the Construction & Developments sector looking to recruit a Financial Controller in West Lothian. This is a unique and highly attractive opportunity for a commercial accountant with the ability to engage with the wider business and position the organisation as it enters a new growth phase. As a result of continued growth, our client is looking to recruit an experienced financial controller to support the managing director.

Your new role
The Financial Controller will be responsible for the smooth running of the company finances and delivering a 5 year plan to deliver substantial growth. The Financial Controller will have considerable experience within a growing SME business and will have a high level of business acumen to maximise the potential of the business. Acting as a number 2 to the MD, this is a critical role in the organisation where the FC will support business planning and analysis and engaging with various departments from sales to operations, including liaising with external bodies. The Financial Controller will be responsible for a team of 2 finance assistants and delivering statutory and monthly management accounts to the senior management team. This role will involve detailed cash-flow forecasting, balance sheet, P&L management and supporting new initiatives including developing the company benefits package, managing leasing requirements and implementing and developing a new financial system.

The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified accountant with proven experience in the SME sector preferably within a background in professional services.
