The company is a fast growing and entrepreneurial business dealing in commodities. 

They now require a Financial Controller who is used to dealing with all aspect of international trade.  There is currently a small accounts team - therefore the successful candidate will need to operate as hands on as well as provide strategic advice to the CEO.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of working with entrepreneurs and SME businesses.

Job Purpose: 

This role will help to provide key management information that will be essential as the business undertakes further expansion- managing cash flows and liaising with the banks is particularly important . The successful candidate will be also required to review the current  systems and reporting - it is envisaged that a systems change is required.

Role Responsibilities: 

  • Production of weekly margin reports 
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Balance Sheet management and review including producing quarterly Re forecast 
  • Weekly multi currency cash flow forecasting and reporting 
  • Manage year-end audit and preparation of the statutory accounts 
  • VAT & other statutory taxes 
  • Maintenance of invoice discounting accounts and monthly reconciliations 
  • Managing bank relationships  

Experience Required

  • Previous experience managing a team 
  • You will be a qualified accountant/ qualified by experience with significant experience of working within an SME 
  • Experience of international trade including an understanding of  foreign exchange strategies
  • Experience of implementing new IT systems 
  • Strong time-management skills with a flexible approach 
  • Ability to effectively prioritise a busy workload
