Group Financial Accounting Manager

Macildowie are recruiting for a Group Financial Accounting Manager exclusively for a highly successful East Midlands based PLC business who require an experienced manager for at least 12 months.

This role is easily commutable from areas including Nottingham, Leicester, Tamworth, Derby, Coalville, Burton and Loughborough. The role will be responsible for ensuring timely production of all Group Reporting and the management of a dynamic and ambitious Finance team.

As Group Accounting Manager, responsibilities include:

• Managing, preparing and reviewing information for presentations, bank presentations and city results announcements
• Coordination of the Annual Report and Accounts production
• Managing and reviewing all aspects of the Group management and financial accounting including monthly management accounts, statutory accounts consolidations and budgets consolidation
• Providing detailed guidance and support for divisions upon all aspects of accounting and accounting policies including the development and implementation of new processes and controls
• Review of new accounting standards, development of appropriate solutions and implementation within the business
• Ownership of Group Accounting Policies and the Group Accounting Policies and Procedures manual
• Manage all aspects of the Group and subsidiary statutory accounts including ensuing compliance with all accounting (under both IFRS and UK GAAP), legal and corporate governance requirements
• Being key point of contact for the external auditors
• Ensure controls are operating effectively throughout the Group Financial Accounting Team

To be considered for this Group Accounting Manager role you must be/have

• A finance qualification ideally chartered with significant post qualification experience and extensive knowledge of financial accounting principles and standards including IFRS and UK GAAP
• Experience of PLC Annual Report and Accounts production
• Excellent interpersonal skills at senior level
• Experience of working to strict deadlines and focussed on delivery
• Previous line management responsibility is essential
