Description
This Data Protection Officer, Travel Retail, Global Company is based in South West London and involves:
Working independently, the role of the Regional Data Protection Officer is to build and manage the group's privacy management program across the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa), to develop privacy policies for internal, and privacy statements for external use cases, and to describe privacy requirements for business partners and service providers. The Regional Data Protection Officer will facilitate compliance by coordinating with Flight Centre Travel Group's Global Data Protection Officer and senior executive stakeholders within the EMEA region. Knowing how to persuade and enable the business, while maintaining integrity, the Regional Data Protection Officer closely collaborates with business stakeholders to control risk from potential procedural or technology changes that affect privacy. In addition, the Regional Data Protection Officer represents Flight Centre Travel Group toward internal and external stakeholders (e., employees, customers and regulatory authorities).
The Regional Data Protection Officer is accountable for compliance within the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region for all matters related to data protection.
Profile
This Data Protection Officer, Travel Retail, Global Company is based in South West London and requires:
Extensive amount of legal experience in government, law firms or multinational corporations preferred, with recent experience focused on privacy.
- Experience in privacy, data protection, risk management, auditing and/or compliance
- Experience working in a heavily regulated and/or audited environment.
- A deep working knowledge of state, federal and international privacy laws, regulations and industry best practices
- Knowledge Privacy Shield certification process
- Detailed knowledge of the EU e-Privacy Directive and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
- Detailed knowledge of the EU Network and Information Security Directive
- Experience with EU model contracts and/or Binding Corporate Rules for international data transfers
