A Nasdaq listed, AAA rated software solutions company with a turnover of approximately $10 billion requires a legal counsel to work closely with the UK General Counsel. You will be responsible for providing day to day legal support to the UK and Ireland including international (non-US).
You will assist the UK General Counsel where you will focus on drafting, negotiating and review a wide variety of client, supplier and strategic business partner contracts in the UK, Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa and manage compliance issues across these jurisdictions. You will advise management on various IP issues (with emphasis on software licensing and development). Part of you role will require you to focus on compliance across a range of regulatory issues including financial services, data protection and privacy.
The Candidate
Must have a minimum of 2 years PQE gained from an international law firm, ideally he/she will have additional experience as an In-House Counsel. Non UK trained lawyers must have completed the QLTT. Applicants must have thorough contract negotiation and drafting experience dealing on the supplier side. Candidates should have good academics and have trained at a top tier UK practice or international law firm. Must have excellent drafting and negotiation skills, candidates with In-House or Secondment experience of working with sales teams and particularly data protection would be advantageous In-house experience is desirable, although not required. For the successful candidate, he/she will be entitled to £5k car allowance, generous bonus and pension plan with flexible benefits
