In House Legal Counsel - Corporate

THE COMPANY

This highly successful and well known company has an established and sizeable in house legal team that has increased in importance and size over the past few years. It has a strong and positive culture as a place to work and attracted high calibre lawyers to work as in house legal counsel.

THE ROLE

There is a current need to recruit an in house counsel with a corporate law background. Given the scale of the business and ambitions, there will always be a significant amount of corporate activity you will need to be a lawyer with a primary skillset in corporate law, and you should be comfortable leading acquisitions and transactions such as joint ventures and re-organisations. There might also be some heavyweight commercial transactions which could require your input. You'll work closely with the commercial directors and multi disciplinary teams and so you'll need to demonstrate experience of managing projects and negotiations with third party suppliers.

ABOUT YOU

You'll be a qualified lawyer (solicitor or qualified by experience) with good experience in corporate law. You'll probably possess at least 5 years' pqe to have gained the knowledge required to undertake this role You'll need to be confident and professional, and have exceptional communication skills. Whilst you'll be part of a wider team, you'll also need to work under your own initiative, under pressure and to tight timescales, and so you'll need excellent organisational skills.
