Head of Financial Control

Salary: Up to £80,000

Our client is a very rapidly growing Private Equity backed online retail business. The ongoing upscaling of the business has given rise to the need for a technically strong Head of Financial Control with excellent people management skills to build and lead the day to day management of the finance function. The role has a remit to take a finance function which is lagging behind the scale of the business and to quickly develop it so that it is fit to support a business which will likely grow to be several times its current size over the next few years.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Director, key responsibilities include the following:-

• Manage and develop all aspects of the core finance function;
• Review, assess and drive improvement in financial controls and processes ensuring that a rigorous control regime is in place which is fit for the planned scale of the business
• Recruit, lead, manage and motivate the finance team;
• Identify and assess key risk factors in the business;
• Oversee all aspects of Monthly Management Reporting;
• Tax and Treasury;
• Manage year-end statutory reporting process and audit;
• Budgets and forecasts.

Taking technical competence as a given, the key to the appointment will be the individual's personality which should be one which thrives in a fast moving business culture. You will be a qualified accountant with excellent people skills and experience in a “product” business.
