In House Counsel

Our client's in house legal team is the biggest in the North-West they are looking for a senior solicitor to join us on a fixed term basis to help support on complex business and commercial matters.

Our client is a consumer cooperative based in Manchester with a diverse family of retail businesses including food retail; electrical retail; financial services; insurance services; legal services and funeralcare, with in excess of 4,200 locations. It is the largest consumer co-operative in the UK and owned by more than 4 million active members.

Description

The work that the solicitor will undertake will include;

Support on complex contractual conversations, general business and commercial matters

• be the legal anchor point for strategic projects
• provide legal advice and expertise, as the "go-to" expert, on a broad variety of business and commercial matters
• represent the legal team at senior meetings where legal input is required

To be successful as a senior solicitor within the in house legal team you'll be commercially focussed, with the energy to help us reach our goals. You'll have solid experience as a legal practitioner from working in an in-house environment with a strong ability to communicate with senior stakeholders.

Profile

• you have a current Solicitor's Practising Certification for England and Wales (admitted to the Bar of England and Wales; be a Chartered Legal Executive Lawyer or hold a Scottish of foreign law equivalent)
• you can bring a strong commercial and business focus
• you have a minimum of 3years PQE
• you're able to build strong and meaningful relationships with lots of different people at all levels
• you're confident when working in an evolving environment
