Anthony Cole Associates are proud to be once again asked to partner with a hugely respected well known US corporate business, based in prestigious offices in the heart of London's Docklands. They are currently looking for a CFO to lead the strategic financial and accounting functions of the business unit. You will have a deep understanding of all aspects of the business and support the Editor in Chief Business Officer in the formulation, communication and execution of strategic plans to deliver strong financial performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy and Leadership
- Influences and challenges senior colleagues to maximize their own business's performance
- Communicates clearly the strategy and financial performance of the organization
- Develops the right performance measures for the business
- Identifies risks and opportunities that will affect financial and organizational performance and collaborates with other members of the leadership team on business plans
- Finds new ways to reduce the costs of the organization
- Works with the members of the leadership team to develop motivating incentive schemes that reward desired behaviour
- Works throughout to manage internal and external stakeholders
Finance and Operational
- Manages the finance function to ensure the business has the analytics and information needed to understand the past, manage the present and predict the future
- Leads budgeting and forecasting (rolling)
- Manages, recruits and develops a high-performing finance team
- Leads the risk-management processes of the organization
- Ensures appropriate financial and other controls are in place
- Makes sure all parts of the business have appropriate procurement processes and contracts in place with vendors.
- Ensures accurate and timely management accounts are produced
- Ensures the balance sheet is accurate, reconciled and up-to-date
- Ensures compliance policies and procedures such as SOX and Audit
- Works closely with Group Finance on operational issues and ad hoc queries
- Manages the relationship and supply of corporate-provided services (tax, property, group finance etc.)
Qualifications and Professional Experience:
- Must have a recognized accounting qualification
- Five years running a finance department in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Led finance for an international company
- Worked for both growth and mature businesses
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with running a business

- Media industry background a plus

Education
- MBA or equivalent degree in business, finance or related field, CPA
The successful candidate will bring strategic and financial insights to operational decision making and have the ability to communicate with non-business people. You will ideally have come from the media/television industry and have the experience of working in a fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a role which takes full responsibility for all aspects of finance and work within an exciting area of a US multinational growing company.
