Compliance Lawyer - London - Perm - £60,000-£90,000

We are currently working with a top international law firm looking to recruit into their risk and compliance function.
The new team member will be primarily focused on conflicts management and related tasks, including undertaking conflict searches, analysing reports and advising lawyers and staff on the firm's policies and procedures.

The conflicts team in London deals with matters globally and is a total clearance function meaning that you can expect a very high level of responsibility from day one. Officers/Lawyers will take ownership of conflicts issues from inception to resolution and will be involved in high level analysis both legal and commercial. 

The key duties will include:
•    Focus on conflicts
•    Carrying out risk assessments and sanctions checks on all parties to all new matters 
•    Monitoring regulatory requirements of the legal profession in the UK, Europe, the US and Asia
•    Explaining to lawyers and PAs information required to comply with the various regulatory requirements
•    Guiding and training Lawyers and PAs on the use of the Compliance systems
•    Managing security information barriers and maintaining databases of confidential information
•    Setting up and checking new clients and matters; maintaining records
•    Reviewing files to check engagement terms are in place and managing the alert/reporting system
•    Providing support to other LLP offices on compliance related matters
•    Carrying out research on companies and new clients
•    Ensure that the regulations (such as AML Client Due Diligence) are adhered to within the firm

This role would ideally suit an experienced Law Firm compliance professional looking to take their conflicts exposure to the highest level. If you currently find yourself escalating issues to senior colleagues but want the opportunity to take on higher level responsibility this will be the perfect role for you. 

Alternatively we are always keen to talk to qualified lawyers, including overseas qualified, who may have no experience in risk and compliance but are interested in moving into this space.
