Our client is a hugely successful media services group which is expanding rapidly into a number of countries. With turnover c£50m and growing at c25% per annum, the business's profits are growing even faster. With current expansion into multiple countries the business now requires a CFO who can partner with the CEO in ensuring that the business's growth is well controlled and that the correct strategic decisions are made for a business whose profile is shifting from a predominantly UK focus to a fully fledged international Group. Over the medium term the business is working towards a substantial planned transaction - possibly a Private Equity transaction or an IPO.

The Role

Reporting to the CEO, key responsibilities include the following:

  • Strategy: Partner the CEO in formulating and implementing business strategy and driving the ongoing development of the business, providing relevant commercial and financial support and challenge;
  • Commercial: Support Country Managers, ensuring that local commercial decision making is effective, consistent with achieving Group strategy and that cost bases are optimised;
  • Leadership: Provide leadership and development to the Finance function;
  • Tax and Treasury: Maintain control over Group Cash and Treasury management ensuring that  foreign exchange risks are managed and that funds are able to flow around the business between geographic jurisdictions. Work with external advisors to ensure that the group is efficiently structured for tax purposes.
