My client, a non-departmental public body based in the City of London, are currently looking for a Head of Management Reporting for a 4-5 month maternity cover to start as soon as possible.

Purpose of the role:

To deliver a customer focused business partnership service, providing advice, support and challenge to senior management and the organisation on financial decision making.
To consider the financial impact, most effective use of resources and corporate strategic objectives.
To prepare analysis, routine and non-routine management reports and provide budgeting advice.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership

* Manage motivate and develop a team of 3
* Manage the day-to-day operations of the team, ensuring that all work is carried out to a high standard and all deadlines are met
* Ensure that a customer focused business partnering role is carried out

Business reporting, planning and analysis

* Regular and timely reporting to the Executive Group, Audit Committee and the Main Board on investment decisions, key performance targets and variances from annual budget or long-term planning
* Coordinate the annual budget process. Review and challenge the budget, working with stakeholders to provide a robust budget.
* Manage the organisation's expenditure to ensure that it operates within its funding limits and cost targets
* Manage the organisation's financial plans to support both the medium and short term, across all funding streams
* Manage cash flow models ensuring organisational targets are met and that the highest standards of integrity and control are maintained
* Continuous review and improvement of reporting to meet the requirement of both the government and the organisation
* Lead the review of the cost allocation methodology
* Provide high quality and accurate analytics

Investment Appraisal/Due diligence

* Provide financial support, advice and challenge on award programmes, ensuring that they meet the organisations strategy and are approved appropriately
* Perform due diligence on new and existing award programmes and other large contracts
* Co-ordinate and maintain an effective system of due diligence
* Attendance at Investment Committee meetings

Financial Policy and Controls

* Ensure that the organisation operates at the highest standards of propriety, integrity and control and understands the ramifications of not maintaining those standards
* Oversee the development, collation and promotion of best practice guidance and toolkits to support adherence to finance policies across the organisation

Ad Hoc
* Manage other organisational-wide projects as required, ensuring successful implementation and review
* To carry out any other duties within the post-holders skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed
* Provide training and support on budgets, financial processes and controls
* Follow the policies and procedures in relation to other matters e. Health and Safety, Procurement, Business Continuity and Financial Control
