Defendant Catastrophic Injury Solicitor-Partnership Opportunity, Newcastle

A rare opportunity has arisen within the specialist catastrophic injury department of this leading Newcastle commercial practice. This is a senior position and partnership opportunity. As part of the strategy for growth, the firm is looking to appoint a leading defendant lawyer with an established reputation of acting for UK insurers in multi-million pound catastrophic injury claims.

The role will involve assisting and overseeing the work of the department as a whole alongside existing partners. You will work closely with the practice Head who is renowned for his expertise in this field and is regarded as one of the best catastrophic injury lawyers in the country (Legal 500/ highly ranked Chambers UK 2017). The role encompasses day to day handling of catastrophic cases as well as operating within the department and firm at a senior executive level.

You will have experience of working collaboratively with senior members of large loss technical teams including head of claims. You will have strong technical skills developed through successfully defending motor claims involving brain injury, spinal cord and amputation.

You will be based in Newcastle, however this role will involve spending time on cases country wide, particularly in London.

This is a senior opportunity for a senior associate level solicitor who would like to step into partnership, or for an existing partner who is seeking a new challenge within the catastrophic injury sector.
