An opportunity has arisen for an experienced lawyer to join Vaillant as Head of Legal, UK and Ireland and report to a Group Senior Legal Counsel based in the headquarters in Germany. The role of the Head of Legal, UK and Ireland is to deliver a comprehensive legal service to the UK & Ireland in all relevant legal matters focusing on a wide range of areas including commercial, contractual and company secretarial projects and assume disciplinary responsibility, thereby ensuring that high quality and pragmatic legal advice is provided to the Board of Directors, Management and all units of the UK companies of Valliant Group.

This is likely to cover areas such as:

· Legal Advice: A wide range of commercial, contractual and corporate issues. This will include drafting and negotiating all types of contracts as well as advising senior and operational management in Sales, Purchasing, Logistics, Property and Finance. Attending meetings with key customers to assist and advise on and negotiate terms and conditions. You will also take a lead on corporate acquisitions and disposals with external assistance when required.
· Compliance & Corporate Governance: Ensuring the implementation of corporate governance projects (board composition, rules of procedure) and compliance standards of Valliant Group, in particular antitrust, anti-corruption, anti-money-laundering, taking into account the local environment.
· Board Member and Company Secretarial, Insurance & Property: board member of certain UK group companies, completion of statutory obligations, insurance management and management of property related legal advice.
