Working closely with and reporting to the Managing Director and Head Office, the Financial Controller will be responsible for the end-to-end of the accounting/financial systems and the processes/procedures of the UK and Ireland business.

Established in 1950, today Gorenje are a multi-billion pound group with their Head Quarters in Slovenia and offices positioned around the world. The UK and Ireland business, although well established, is looking to increase their market share and consumer awareness with stylish, state of the art designs and exceptional product quality.

The UK business is looking for a team focused Financial Controller who is looking to be involved in the implementation of a strategic growth plan, whilst wanting to work in an SME environment that is part of a global group.

Gorenje UK offices are conveniently located close to the station in Wimbledon.

Financial Controller Detailed Job Description

The key responsibilities of the Financial Controller will be, but not limited to

• Assisting the Managing Director with the strategic plan
• Reporting monthly figures and management accounts to Head Office
• Margin Analysis reporting
• Fixed asset and depreciation postings
• Providing effective control and management of all aspects of the company finances and maintain integrity of all finance information
• Undertake monthly accruals and prepayments calculations
• Ensure appropriate balance sheet reconciliations are prepared and reviewed each month
• Liaison with the company's auditors in respect of the annual audit and preparation of the financial statements
• Rigorous forecasting and monitoring of cash flow and control of working capital
• Management of day-to-day relationships with the company's bankers, auditors and other professional advisers
• Fulfilling the duties of Company Secretary
• Supervision of monthly payroll including pension and P11D calculations and completion of relevant returns to HMRC
• Preparation of quarterly VAT return and handling of VAT issues and enquiries
• Corporation Tax computations and review of external audit agency

Candidate's Profile

The ideal candidate for this Financial Controller role will have:

• Good interpersonal skills and able to work well as a member of a small team and on their own initiative
• Hands-on experience of managing a finance department in a similar environment
• ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualification
• Extensive understanding of UK Accounting
• Staff management skills
• Excellent organisational skills
• Good people management skills
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to communicate with all levels of the business
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Excellent IT skills
• Good time management skills
• Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing at all levels
