The Assistant or Associate Director will assist the Director of
Institutional Research with information requests and research for
decision support, strategic planning and external reporting
mandates.
Specific Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the
following.

Work with the director to design and execute research projects
using appropriate quantitative and qualitative research design and
statistical techniques to ensure validity and reliability
Create data sets from institutional databases and assist with
maintaining and updating the Institutional Research SQL data
warehouse
Manage the Institutional Research and Consumer Information
websites including timely updates of information
Assist with the update of the University's longitudinal trend
analyses and fact sheets
Coordinate and prepare report submissions to IPEDS, New York
State, and NCAA
Respond to internal and external requests for information,
including support for assessment, grants and accreditation
Disseminate findings in narrative, tabular and graphical form
including key visualizations
Providing research support and advice to other offices across
campus
Work collaboratively with departments across campus
Supervise student workers
Assist with other duties as assigned

Skills/Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred, and a
minimum of two years of relevant work experience including research
design, evaluation methodology, qualitative research and
statistics, preferably in an academic setting.
Demonstrated experience in working with relational databases
and other applications
Knowledge of web page design
Knowledge of multivariate statistics and statistical modeling,
incl. experience with statistical software such as SPSS or
equivalent
Knowledge of SQL, Colleague, and BI tools such as CROA
preferred
Proficiency with Excel, Microsoft Access, PowerPoint
Scrupulous attention to detail
Ability to organize, analyze and summarize data and information
for multiple audiences
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to work with diverse constituencies and contribute to a
team-based environment
Ability to handle confidential materials discreetly and
professionally on a routine basis
