This exciting role will need a change focused technology leader to drive the delivery of technology transformation and radically improve the customer experience for students and staff. The IT Director will take a hands-on role in leading efficient, pragmatic yet innovative IT provision to USW's diverse student, teaching & learning communities of over 25,000 people. A business focused university with the emphasis on the real world application of its expertise and maximising students' learning outcomes providing a market-leading technology offering will be key. This role represents a unique opportunity for an exceptional technology leader to deliver change and ensure the vision is realised. The Role: • Operate as a senior leader right across the University, fostering positive relationships with key professional services and academic stakeholders. Stimulate, shape and manage the demand for IT Services • Shape the IT team culture, instil efficiency and professional discipline, make it easier to engage with and build a reputation for reliable, outstanding delivery creating competitive advantage for the University • Provide strong functional leadership to the IS teams driving clarity of responsibility, and process, plus an absolute focus on customer service, delivery and customer outcomes The Candidate: • With significant exposure to complex information or knowledge driven industries, you will have the ability to understand the needs of a truly diverse business plus have demonstrable experience of shaping high performing IT functions to meet them. • Politically savvy and an outstanding communicator, you will have the ability to proactively build relationships with a range of senior stakeholders both across the University and in wider industry • An excellent people leader, you will have the proven ability to enthuse and galvanise large IT teams.
