Corporate Solicitor - Global Practice

An award winning major international full service law firm wishes to appoint an experienced Corporate Solicitor to its much admired Corporate Division and be based at the practices' Birmingham city centre office.

The firm has a solid reputation in the global energy, infrastructure, financial services and advanced manufacturing and technology sectors and is a truly global operation meaning that it is well-placed to advise on complex multi-jurisdictional matters across a full range of legal disciplines and it is proud to have achieved a significant number of tier 1 rankings in the Legal 500 in recent times.

The firms' Corporate Division comprises in excess of 100 solicitors, which includes 35 partners, who are well placed in strategic locations across numerous jurisdictions in order to be readily accessible to the practices' envied client list.

You will have a minimum of 4 years' PQE and have gained experience within the corporate sector at a comparable Top 40 national practice or at a niche boutique firm. You will have had exposure to corporate finance (both domestic and cross-jurisdictional) and any experience of dealing with private equity and/or joint ventures would be advantageous although not an essential requirement.

Exceptional technical skills and first rate communication abilities are a pre-requisite for the role and it goes without saying that you will have strong academics.

This role really will take your career to the next level as you will be exposed to a significant array of work to include public takeovers, both recommended and contested; flotations/initial public offerings; secondary issues including rights issues, placings and open offers; private placements; corporate governance; compliance with companies, securities and financial services legislation including the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority and the City Code on Takeovers and Mergers.

The opportunities for progression and professional development are limitless and there will be an abundance of opportunities for face to face meetings with clients. Having a tenure at this firm will certainly significantly enhance your CV and will open doors for you in the long term.

Naturally, for a firm of such pre-eminence, a lucrative salary and benefits package is on offer which includes participation in the firm's bonus scheme, life and medical insurance, a generous holiday allowance with the option to buy more days as well as a flexible working scheme.
