KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The IT Procurement Manager is expected to assume the following key responsibilities plus any other reasonable duties as required:

Set and agree the procurement strategy and drive improvements across Global Support IT;

Manage IT procurement categories covering hardware, software, Telecoms and IT services then seek to expand the capability into other Global Support categories, where appropriate;

Drive efficiencies and cost-savings, continually and as part of the annual business planning process;

Lead vendor selection and RFI/RFP processes; negotiate terms and conditions by working closely with stakeholders and Group functions;

Identify and lead improvement programmes through supplier consolidation, service delivery improvements, process efficiencies, procurement policies and training interventions;

Develop and ensure robust reporting of all savings generated, tracking monthly with the Group Finance team;

Lead strategic vendor management practices and develop vendor relationships;

Improve alignment and maturity across Support and divisions, setting and monitoring adherence to Group wide procurement policies, minimum expected practices and governance frameworks.

Develop and deliver a procurement strategy and function across Global IT to deliver category strategy, savings plan and financial benefits;

Implement the procurement strategy to deliver targeted benefits and forecast financial savings;

Ensure support and agreement for the strategy from key stakeholders so that implementation and compliance are optimal; promote the effective management of suppliers to sustain value throughout the procurement life cycle;

Establish new processes and systems for effective procurement across Global IT; develop a procurement vision and identify technology solutions to support that vision;

Work pro-actively with colleagues to rapidly identify major procurement opportunities and deliver quick wins and sustainable savings;

Develop a suitable contract database and protocol for ongoing supplier management including the ongoing creation, rationalisation and management of suppliers along with a clear overview highlighting contract information (eg contract length sum, renewal, length, break clauses);

Engage effectively with colleagues about the value of robust procurement practices, and ensure adequate internal training, processes and best practices are understood and Embedded;

Develop and roll out training so that greater control is exerted in negotiations with all suppliers;

Provide specialist advice, guidance and service on best practice procurement across Group; lead the identification, assessment and management of risks associated with different sourcing strategies; provide insight through the analysis of spend, supplier markets and savings;

Define performance in cost, service and quality terms, including leading negotiations and managing key supplier relationships to deliver breakthrough performance on strategically significant contracts (eg Telecoms, hardware) and negotiation and management of third-party service providers;

Develop and agree ongoing and annual departmental cost savings targets for the annual budget process; develop and agree the annual procurement plan with directors and departmental heads;

Develop active benchmarking data and analysis to ensure Group IT achieves continued value, creativity, flexibility and sustainability across the entire supply chain;

Establish new processes and systems for effective procurement across Global Support and investigate opportunities for broader savings and reductions in costs;

Manage key supplier relationships, embedding SLAs to ensure excellent performance in cost, service and quality terms;

Produce regular reports on supplier/category performance, providing comprehensive management information and in-depth analysis when requested including spend analysis, savings secured and forecast savings;

Ensure all goods and services purchased comply with Group corporate social sustainability policies.

Oversight of Global Support IT's procurement activity;

Monitor costs associated with procurement activity;

Regular audit and review of procurement activity, the benefits derived and the risks;

Manage and monitor the procurement risk profile,

Identify & mitigate risks to the value of procurement activity, in close coordination with division teams;

Ensure compliance with wider Group legal and security frameworks and governance;

Develop, implement and monitor minimum expected procurement practices across division

KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS

In depth knowledge and understanding of the mechanics in your department and how these fit into the wider global environment

Knowledge of working in global business environment with sound understanding of global process and transactional flows

A track record of continuous professional and management development to personal skill set

Knowledge of lean, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies preferred

Recognised professional qualification (eg CIPS) preferred
