In-House Legal Counsel - Commercial & Marketing / Advertising / Regulatory - South West

McKenzie Douglas are representing a business that are based near a beautiful city in the South West - commutable from locations surrounding Bristol. Our client has grown from a small UK company to a booming and highly successful technology business.
The business enjoys strong brand identity, they operate in more than 70 countries worldwide and hold a global team. They have extensive plans afoot to develop their success over the coming years and seek to appoint a lawyer to join them on their journey.
You will report into the Senior Counsel and ultimately the Head of Legal. This would suit a candidate who is looking for a role that has a strong commercial focus coupled with regulatory, marketing, advertising and IP. You can expect to deal with the Patents, IP, Research, Product Development/ Projects and Marketing team on a regular basis.
Accountabilities
You will enjoy working on challenging and stimulating issues in a fast-paced environment. You will act as an In-House Legal Counsel and enable the businesses continued success as well as their future growth plans.
- Provide support on pre-launch product issues with an emphasis on consumer law, regulatory matters and advertising issues;
- Review and assist with marketing and advertising claims with reputational risks in mind
- Provide support on pre-launch product issues
- Conduct training on advertising and regulatory areas for R & D, Marketing, Sales and the Commercial team
Requirements
- 2 - 4 years PQE*
- Commercial contracts or/and IP experience
- Experience in one or more of the following: advertising, marketing and consumer regulation for new or existing products
- Any exposure to the health and wellbeing sector (not essential) (e.g. personal care or hygiene or medical etc)
- Interest in design, engineering and technical issues
- Motivated, driven and hardworking - enjoys challenges and likes to learn
- Eligible to work in the UK
