You will be responsible for the timely completion of the monthly management accounts including the completion of c10 PFI management accounts within the Public Portfolio alongside being the sole business partner to the Private Sector MD. Additionally, you will support and assist in the preparation of draft commercial reports, full balance sheet reconciliations and submission of results to both operations and finance management teams. You will be required to be responsible for the planning, training and development of the management accounting team. You will act as a business partner, both through helping to improve the commercial acumen of the wider business, and through driving the process changes/efficiencies necessary to improve the financial reporting cycle.
In this role, you will have or be responsible for;
- Overall responsibility for timely completion of monthly management accounts in accordance with prescribed deadlines
- Production of monthly commercial reporting packs and presentation to senior management
- Provide commentary and analysis for FC and FP&A managers on consolidated numbers
- Line management responsibilities for the management accounting team
- Take a lead role in the budgeting and reforecasting process
- Act as a Finance Business Partner to promote the sharing of best practice across the finance function and the wider business
- Support the Financial Accountant in the audit process and production of statutory accounts
- Contribute towards the successful completion of the Finance team's objectives
- Ownership of Finance team's lifecycle (incl. variation), energy and contractual obligations
Education and Experience
- Qualified accountant CIMA or ACCA
- Management accounting experience 3+ years
- Experience of leadership, management & development of direct reports
- Advanced excel skills and analytical capability
- Exposure to multiple finance systems
- Possess great drive, enthusiasm and a "can do" attitude
- Self-motivated and self-directed with ability to deliver results with minimal supervision
- A proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external managers and contacts
- Able to produce succinct correspondence and reports
- Communicate with non-finance representatives, provide guidance and support in understanding of financial data where necessary
- Experience developing a culture of continuous process improvement
