Interim Group Financial Controller

MERJE are currently recruiting a high profile interim Group Financial Controller for a leading multi-site manufacturing business based in Birmingham / West Midlands area.

Reporting to the CFO the role will take full responsibility for group reporting, tax, treasury and audit, additionally you will head up the shared service centre providing transactional support across the business. Whilst ensuring all reporting is completed in an accurate and timely manner, you will have extensive exposure at board level and take full responsibility for reviewing all procedures to create a best in class reporting performance.

Being a qualified accountant, ideally with experience gained in a big 4 / top 10 firm, you will have strong technical knowledge in addition to demonstrable leadership experience from within a large corporate and complex business environment. Whilst manufacturing / multi-site experience would be advantageous, it is vital that you have experience operating in a large complex company environment, possess demonstrable group consolidation experience and have a track record of delivering interim projects to a high standard as this will enable you to hit the ground running and deliver a year end reporting deadline whilst operating within a challenging environment identifying and implementing process improvement across the finance function.

Profile of Interim Group Financial Controller

• Qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) from a big 4 / top 10 firm, with an impressive track record operating in a similar Group Financial Controller / Head of Group Reporting in a large corporate business / Plc environment   
• Technically proficient and hands on in all statutory reporting and year end accounting including IFRS, UK GAAP and Group Consolidation
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate with real confidence and flair across all levels whilst also influencing decisions with senior stakeholders
• You will be IMMEDIATELY available or availability to start within 1-2 weeks with the drive and determination to deliver this key financial reporting project on time and in line with group reporting standards
