An iconic Birmingham city centre location is recruiting for a new post of Commercial Director.

This is a senior post, part of the Executive Team and will provide strategic leadership and take ownership of developing an overarching commercial strategy for the business. The post-holder will be responsible for delivering the growth of the Millennium Point business by managing existing non-core revenue streams, identifying commercial opportunities and managing sales and marketing efforts across the business.

 In seeking consistency of growth and improvement, the Commercial Director will consider the commercial landscape, review alternative ways of working, improve quality of service and brand and manage both costs and risk attached to commercial activity. The role will also keep abreast of trends and market conditions to provide strategic advice to the Executive Team. The key purpose of the role is to expand the company's commercial activity to generate additional revenue and lead to sustainable growth and presence in the city marketplace for the building, organisation and the Trust.

The right person for the role will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • A proven track record of successful strategic leadership of commercial activities, marketing and communications.
  • Previous experience in a Commercial director role (Property and or Events desirable)
  • Well-developed influencing and negotiating skills
  • A confident, independent, energetic and visible leader and effective decision maker
  • A capacity to deliver results to tight deadlines and under pressure
  • Ability to lead, inspire, motivate and develop colleagues at all levels with a commitment to working with others to achieve the organisation's strategic priorities
  • Experience of direct management and development of departmental teams (Events and Marketing teams desirable).
  • Analysis of data and research capabilities to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities (including expansion and business development).
  • Well-developed business management skills and understanding of delivering an excellent customer-based service in a property organisation with tenants, visitors and customers.
  • Ability to produce clear, concise and well-written reports on the performance of commercial activities using key metrics.
  • Ability to interpret information, analyse complex data, make sound judgements, appraise performance and manage risk.

Up to £75,000 plus benefits that include 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays, private medical insurance, generous pension package and flexi-time.
