Senior Finance Business Partner needed for FTSE250 business in Hampshire!

GBP85,000 - GBP100,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Benefits

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join a leading FTSE 250 company based in the Hampshire area. This role will require travel between Hook and Portsmouth, so the successful candidate will need to be located closely to both locations or must be mobile.

This role would be ideal for an individual with a strong commercial acumen, as well as a strong understanding of the relationships between key financial and non-financial business value drivers. The individual will also have the ability to translate business requirements into open, honest and transparent insight to solve business challenges. The individual will have experience adding value in a commercially orientated bidding and contracting environment.

To successfully deliver in this high-profile position, you will need to have:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Degree level education
  • Experience of adding value in a commercially orientated bidding and contracting environment within a FTSE250
  • Evidence of ability to influence, negotiate, listen to and resolve conflicts with peer and senior decision makers
  • Defence industry knowledge is desirable
  • Excellent business partnering skills and demonstrable commercial experience in balancing contract risk and return, driving and responding to change, optimising financial outcomes, optimising commercial customer relationships, contract life cycle support and customer & market analysis experience
  • Track record of collaborating with business leaders in a complex business environment
  • The ability to translate business requirements into open, honest and transparent insight to solve business challenges
  • The capability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders through the sharing of knowledge and collaboration
  • Strong leadership capability and experience of managing high performing teams

A little more information about the role:

  • Act as a trusted, visible and accessible point of contact to business leaders; supporting the delivery of commercial and financial decision support to drive future performance.
  • Understand the customer landscape and their drivers to provide contract pricing, cash and margin optimisation recommendations and ensuring an acceptable balance of risk and return.
  • Provide challenge and decision support for new business, drawing upon the Pricing and Deal Architecture and Legal teams as appropriate.
  • Champion working as part of a virtual team with the business, Centre of Excellence and Group Finance to embed and sustain the Finance Operating Model.
  • Support the portfolio strategy through market, competitor and portfolio analysis, insights and recommendations; inform and challenge market entry and exit decisions
  • Develop customer relationships to successfully contribute to commercial and financial negotiations regarding variable revenue, rebids and change notices.
  • Support business leaders to deliver contractual obligations through identification of over and under delivery, performing root cause analysis, and making recommendations based on this.
