Our client a bank based in Edinburgh is looking to recruit an in house Banking solicitor to be based in their legal team in Edinburgh.

Description

Acts as a source of professional legal expertise, providing advice as a trusted advisor to stakeholders and assisting with the development of policy and procedures.

Acts as a subject matter expert on legal issues, able to be the sole representative for an area.

Maintains an awareness of external legal developments and how these affect the business.

Provides Legal technical input to support delivery of projects.

Contributes to reporting and escalation of legal or governance issues within own/ supported area, inputting to recommended solutions as required.

Leads specific projects and reviews within the Legal function.

Collaborates with Legal colleagues to share business and legal knowledge and best practice.

Builds and maintains internal network and relationships, providing appropriate professional advice to achieve the clients objectives.

Provides advice on terms and conditions, marketing and other customer communications, new product development, operational queries and legal issues arising in connection with the products and services referred to in the core purpose section above

Profile

The candidate needs to be 12 months plus in terms of level of PQE and has undertaken some banking legal work ( preferably Retail Banking )
